About Our Church

Hello!  Welcome to Tabernacle Baptist Church of Shoreline, Washington, affectionately known as Tab.  My name is Tom Ruhlman and I have been the senior pastor at Tab since 1980.  My wife Becky and I, along with our 8 children, have served with joy in the ministry together.  We are privileged to serve in a church with such a heritage.  It began in 1896 and has been a place of worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism ever since!  We have moved a few times!  The church started in downtown Seattle, moved to Capital Hill, then the Maple Leaf district, and then to Shoreline.

Tab is a wonderful blend of both young and old.  We have a quality nursery facility.  We have an Awana Club and a Teen Youth Program that meets on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM.  We have an active senior adult group, the Voyagers, which travel each month to a destination for food and fellowship.

You will enjoy the services at Tab.  The music is a blend of both traditional hymns along with contemporary praise music.  The messages are biblical and practical, giving simple exposition of the Word of God.  I use the New American Standard Translation of the Bible, as do some of our people.  Others use the King James Version, and the New International Version.

You will enjoy the facility that the Lord has given us.  We have room for everyone, including you.  Our parking lot is large and easily accessible.  There is a ramp entrance for wheel-chairs and walkers.

Our church is in association with the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches.  We have a great fellowship here in the Northwest.  There are 100 of our churches in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho that make up the Baptist Network Northwest.  We are also active members of Camp Gilead, a Christian Camp in Carnation, Washington.  Tab started the camp in 1948.

It would be great to meet you!  See you soon!
